Chief Executive Officer, Dr. (Mrs) Abisola Williams, founded Selina Ventures Ltd in 1991, after 30 years of dedicated service in Nigeria’s Federal Civil Service. She founded Selina Ventures in order to close the gap in the market for high quality business support services for small and medium sized enterprises. The company comprises of seven main divisions:

  • DR. GABI WILLIAMS

    Chairman

    Dr. Gabi Williams graduated as a medical doctor from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1963. He obtained his master’s in Public Health at the John Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health, Baltimore, USA (1965-1966). Dr. Williams held a number of important public appointments, including, among others, medical officer of health and chief health officer for Lagos State. He was also a former federal director of disease control and international health at the Federal Ministry of Health. He also lectured in public health at the Universities of Lagos and Ibadan. Dr. Williams has also represented Nigeria at international meetings and conferences, and sat on the executive boards of W.H.O. and UNICEF. For two years he was chairman of UNDP/WORLD BANK/W.H.O. Special Programme of Research and Training on Tropical Diseases. Dr Williams has written numerous articles published in medical books and journals; he is also the author of the popular books “House Doctor” (Health and Medical Problems Explained) and “The Health of the Executive” (Executives’ Health Problems Explained). Dr. Williams is a fellow of the Economic Development Institute of the World Bank. Dr Williams retired from public service in October 1993. After his retirement, he was appointed by the Presidency as chairman, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, a position he occupied briefly but with distinction.

    Mrs. Abisola Williams was educated at the University of Ibadan (1964), University of Lagos (1967), University of Bristol, U.K (1974), Royal Institute of Public Administration, London (1978), and Faith Christian Theological Seminary, Sango-Otta, Ogun State (1991-1995). Some of the many important public appointments she has held included: permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance (January 1987 to June 1988), director-general, Police Affairs Department, presidency (1988 to 1991) and permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Transport and Aviation (1991 to 1994). She is also a director of Bureau Veritas Nigeria Ltd, an international shipping company. Mrs. Williams has received a large number of awards and recognition for her selfless service to Nigeria. These include but are not limited to the National Distinguished Merit Award in Transportation, from Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye (1996). Among her many hobbies include writing: Mrs. Williams is the author of two Christian books: “Prayer: My Survival Kit in the Journey of Life” and “The Blood of Jesus Christ”, both of which received critical acclaim.

    Managing Director

    Olatoun Williams is the Managing Director of Selina Group. The group comprises a business centre, computer training centre, employment bureau, media services division and a travel agency, Selina Travels, an IATA licensed agency since 1997. Selina Travels is a Virgin Travel Partner and British Airways Gold Award Winner. Olatoun Williams is also the founder and Executive Director of the children’s charity, Sponsor A Child which has successfully promoted child welfare in Nigerian institutions, particularly orphanages, since 2003. Ms. Williams was educated at Northwood College, Middlesex, and University of Bristol, U.K. from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in French. She holds a certificate in Italian language and literature from the Art and Business School (ABS) Villa Montalto, Florence, Italy. (Villa Montalto has since become a science institute). As founder/executive director of Sponsor A Child, through the provision of resource centres and playgrounds, she has reached over 3,000 children in institutions and orphanages. Through training seminars for the delivery of rights based child welfare services, she has reached over 400 members of the child care workforce nationwide.She has served as a member of Ogun State Task Team (SST) for the implementation of functional School Based Management Committees (Schools Reform). A published author, a literary reviewer, television presenter and a child rights advocate, she is also chairman of the Editorial Board of Victoria Island Police Community Relations Committee, (PCRC) and a member of the Africa Book Group - a voluntary association of international women readers.

  • MRS. MOPELOLA BAILEY

    Director

    After a long and successful career at GlaxoSmithKline Ltd, Mopelola Bailey established herself as a copywriter and medical editor, working primarily with pharmaceutical companies and advertising agencies. In her capacity as a copywriter, she specialises in writing copy for websites, brochures, annual reports, video scripts, animations, speeches and newsletters. Her editing work is primarily pharmaceutical industry-based. She has written for a number of high-profile companies, including Deloitte, eBay, Carphone Warehouse, Pfizer pharmaceuticals, Boehringer Ingelheim and Lifeline Scientific, Inc. Mrs. Bailey has a BSc in Analytical Chemistry, an MA in Strategic Human Resources Management, a certificate in Medical Editing and a diploma in Proofreading and Editing, for which she received a distinction. She is a full member of the renowned Society for Editors and Proofreaders, UK. Mrs. Bailey is also a published author. Her book, A Small Business Guide to Internet Marketing, was published in the UK by Harriman Press. She is based in Hertfordshire, UK, and is married and has two very active young boys.

  • mr. REMI OSIKANLU

    Director

    Mr. Oshikanlu graduated from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) Ago – Iwoye in 1991 where he studied Law. He proceeded to Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992. He served as the first General Manager and Company Secretary of Selina Ventures Limited for 5 years. He proceeded to the United States of America where he attended Hofstra University of Law School and obtained a Master’s degree in International Law. He was called to the Bar in New York State, U.S.A in 1999. He is the Principal Attorney of Oshikanlu & Associates Plc, a full service Law firm located on Long Island New York, U.S.A which he founded in 2001. Oluremi Oshikanlu is the founder of IFT realty Limited– a real estate and property development company based in Lagos, Nigeria.

    Director

    Dr. Olajide Williams currently serves Chief of Staff of Neurology, Director of Acute Stroke Services, and Associate Professor of Neurology at Columbia University. Dr Williams is a highly regarded NIH researcher and expert in community-based health education interventions targeting economically disadvantaged minorities. Dr Williams is also the Founder of Hip Hop Public Health. He had authored numerous scholarly peer reviewed publications including the acclaimed book, Stroke Diaries – a collection of patient encounter stories published by Oxford University Press. Dr Williams sits on several prominent boards, including the Partnership for a Healthier America whose honorary chair is First Lady Michelle Obama and the Founders Affiliate board of the American Heart Association.  Dr Williams has received numerous national awards for his work including congressional citations and state proclamations. He has been featured by several major networks which include NBC, ABC, CNN, Al Jazeera, Fox, NPR and the New York Times. Dr. Williams was profiled in Fast Company magazine’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, the Root 100′s most influential, BET’s “A” list, and the 2015 New York Magazine’s Best Doctors list.

  • ENGR. TUNDE WILLIAMS

    Director

    An Electronic Engineer with BEng (Hons) 1991 – 1994 from the University of Southampton, an MSc in Communications & Signal Processing 1994 – 1995 from the Imperial College London; an MBA in Business Administration (2000 – 2002) from the University of Bath with Distinction, which was completed while working full time. A Diploma in Digital Marketing 2010 – 2011 from the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing. Engr. Williams is currently the Head of Field & Solutions Marketing, Europe & Africa at Motorola Solutions London, United Kingdom . He completed Motorola's global Business Leadership Development program - a two year program in which selected high potential employees undertake rotations for six month aimed at broadening their learning and leadership capabilities. Over 12 years experience in the telecommunications field, including a number of positions within Motorola and Orange plc, spanning systems engineering, product management, business development and marketing. He has 5 granted patents to his name covering GSM and GPRS intelligent network optimization. Accepted for Publication: ‘Seamless Mobile Subscriber Authentication based on Biometrics and Bio-sensing’. His specialties include: Product marketing, marketing strategy, business operations, product development and product management.
